Google Apps Now Prefers Okta for Businesses

Okta and Google have paired up to make the identity and device management service the preferred option for Google Apps for businesses. The hope is that Okta will help enterprises securely deploy and manage apps.

“Enterprises today want the ability to choose the best combination of tools to move their business forward.” said Todd McKinnon, CEO of Okta. “Businesses want to leverage Google’s productivity applications, strong account security and multi-cloud infrastructure to get their best work done.”

Of course, Okta isn't the only choice for a enterprise identity authentication and access management. There's Bitium, RSA SecureID, OneLink and many others. But the customers jumping on the Okta for Google Apps bandwagon include Teach for America, HBO, Broadcom, Avery Dennison, CBS and Brown-Forman and News Corp.

Google will be actively promoting Okta to companies with a bunch of Google Apps licenses. The companies claim they will be giving global systems integrators, Google resellers and independent software vendors with training, tools and support for enterprises. Both companies already have a partnership with Google for Work and Android for Work.
